Grant Initiatives And Capital Projects Coordinator

This is a highly responsible professional position involving research, development, recommendations, and coordination of grant initiatives and capital projects for various divisions within Palm Tran. This position coordinates the writing and submission of federal, state, and local transit grant applications using computerized grant application software. Duties include organizing and completing grant application activities for planning and setting funding priorities; coordinating the grant application review process; conducting research and supporting contract administration; assisting in developing and implementing funding strategies and strategic goals for the transit system; assisting in the development of the annual budget; and making funding recommendations. This position also supports capital project coordination activities, including tracking project schedules, budgets, expenditures, and compliance with applicable funding requirements. Coordinates FTA's Triennial Review, including preparation and collection of required documentation for both desk and on-site reviews. Participates in pre-bid meetings and attends workshops, meetings, and conferences. Assists the Grants & Compliance Manager with other related work as directed or required. Reports directly to the Grants & Compliance Manager.

Work is performed within the established rules set forth by Palm Tran, federal, state, and local authorities, and conducted with the utmost regard for the safety of the passengers, the public, and all equipment.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, finance, planning, or a related field, plus three (3) years of professional experience in grant administration, capital project coordination, budgeting, or financial analysis.

Intermediate to proficient level experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required. Candidates for this position will undergo a skills assessment as part of the hiring process.

Equivalency: Associate's degree in a related field and five (5) years of experience as listed above.

High School Diploma or GED and seven (7) years of experience as listed above.

Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.
