Lab Assistant – Pathology Lab – DMLT Holders Required

Job Summary

HR Service Jobs is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Lab Assistant to join a reputed Pathology Lab. This role is ideal for candidates with a DMLT (Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology) qualification who are looking to build a stable and rewarding career in the diagnostic and healthcare sector. You will play a vital role in assisting the lab technicians and pathologists in conducting tests and ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in collecting, labeling, and storing patient samples (blood, urine, tissue, etc.).

  • Prepare and maintain lab equipment, tools, and instruments as per standard protocols.

  • Support pathologists and lab technologists in performing routine diagnostic tests.

  • Ensure cleanliness, sterilization, and safety of the laboratory environment.

  • Enter data and maintain accurate patient records and test results.

  • Follow proper biomedical waste disposal protocols and infection control procedures.

  • Manage inventory of lab reagents, chemicals, and supplies.

  • Comply with all quality standards, safety guidelines, and accreditation norms.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) from a recognized institution (mandatory).

  • Basic understanding of pathology testing procedures.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Computer literacy for entering test results and maintaining records.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of sample handling and lab hygiene standards.

Experience

  • Freshers with DMLT qualification are welcome to apply.

  • Candidates with 1–2 years of lab experience in a pathology/diagnostic lab will be preferred.

Working Hours

  • Morning Shift: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

  • Monday to Saturday (Sunday off)

  • Overtime or shift extensions may be required in case of emergency cases or peak hours.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Thorough understanding of laboratory safety and sample handling practices.

  • Ability to multitask and manage daily sample load efficiently.

  • Knowledge of basic diagnostic instruments and their maintenance.

  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in test assistance and documentation.

  • Willingness to learn and grow under the supervision of senior lab staff.
