Teaching Assistant Roles| Multiple roles| September start

The Supply Room are currently recruiting for Teaching Assistants to fulfil full-time/temp-to-perm September Start roles within the inclusive and welcoming schools we work with across Lambeth, South East London.

The ideal candidates will have previous experience working in childcare, supporting children with SEND and is seeking to further develop their skills, knowledge and career within education.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND.
  • Assist in the delivery of tailored learning activities.
  • Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.
  • Adapt resources and approaches to meet individual learning needs.
  • Work alongside the class teacher, other support staff and SENCO.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and engagement in learning.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN or school setting.
  • A good understanding of Special Educational Needs, such as ASD, ADHD, or SEMH.
  • A patient, calm, and nurturing approach to supporting pupils.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • A proactive and flexible attitude, with a willingness to support across the classroom.

About You:

  • Resilient & Patient: A calm, authoritative nature with a genuine passion for supporting children in challenging circumstances.
  • Experience Required: Proven experience working with children presenting with SEND and challenging behaviour (e.g., in a PRU, alternative provisions, or youth working or mental support worker) is essential.
  • Compliance: Must have (or be willing to apply for) an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service and have a valid right to work in the UK.
  • Academics: Competent in core subjects (Maths, English, Science); a degree in Education or Psychology is highly valued.
